Same Day Express (SDX)

For those extremely urgent parcels required at their destination on the same day as it is sent off. This service is most efficient when sent to a Major Centre1. Should this service be required to a Regional Centre2, prior consultation with Consign-It is extremely important. Please Note: This service is subject to the availability of commercial airline flights.

Overnight Courier (ONX)

Delivery by 11h00 the following working day. This applies to Major Centers1 only. Regional Centers2 usually requires an extended transit time. Please liaise with Consign-It for more specific information. Please Note: On the waybill you have two options for Overnight Courier, i.e. ONX 8:30 and ONX 10:30. ONX 8:30 should only be used if a consignment is rather important and must be delivered as early as possible, as there will be a surcharge charged for deadline delivery. ONX 10:30 is regarded as the normal overnight service. Consignments collected on a Friday will only be delivered the following Monday. Should you require delivery on the Saturday, please select the service box marked “Saturday”. The same applies to consignments collect before a public holiday.

Normal Air (NDX)

This service applies mainly to those consignments which are relatively heavy or bulky, and which are not urgently required the following morning. Delivery is usually effected the afternoon of the following working day. Some Regional Centers2 might take up to 48 to 60 hours to be delivered; kindly liaise with Consign-It before sending your consignment.

Economy (RDF)

This service is applicable to those consignments which are not time sensitive, or which may be too large to send airfreight. The transit time varies from destination; some are reached within 36 hours whereas some may take up to 72 hours.

International Document Courier (IDC)

This service applies to consignments consisting of only documentation that needs to be sent outside the borders of South Africa. Please liase with Consign-It to establish the costs involved and transit times.

International Parcel Courier (IPC)

For all Non-Documentation consignments that is needs to be sent outside the borders of South Africa. Please liaise with Consign-It to establish costs involved and transit times. Please Note: All consignments that consist of Non-Documentations must be accompanied by a Commercial Invoice; as well as your company’s exporter’s code, which can be applied for at the closest offices of the South African Revenue Services (SARS).

Local Deliveries within Gauteng

Please note that the Main Centre charges apply to a certain radius within Gauteng, which is: Springs, Roodepoort, Mulbarton and Pretoria North. Areas outside of this radius will be charged as Regional Centers.

Collections

  • Phone or fax your request to your local Consign-It office.
  • State company name, address, telephone number and contact person.
  • State service required.
  • Collections are usually done in the afternoon, with the exception of Same Day Express. We require our clients to arrange a collection with us as soon as possible during the day so that the drivers’ route can be planned accurately.

General Conditions

  • All addresses must be street addresses. (no PO Box numbers)
  • Consignees name address and telephone number must be on the waybill.

Mode of Transport

Consign-It uses a variety of transport types to effect delivery of consignments.  The decision as to which mode of transport is used, will at all times be at our discretion.

Hazardous and Dangerous Goods

In view of the sensitivity of hazardous goods, we require you to declare on our waybill whether a consignment contains hazardous materials.  In the case of a consignment containing hazardous materials, Consign-It must be provided of the exact nature of the materials in the form of a Material Safety Data Sheet.  As per IATA regulations governing the transportation and packaging requirements for dangerous goods, various types of hazardous cargo must be packaged in a prescribed manner.  Please contact Consign-It for further information.

Please note:  We are not licensed or equipped to transport live stock, explosives, human remains, perishables, precious stones and firearms.

Insurance

Declared:  The insurance is calculated at 2% of declared value with a minimum of R20.00 per waybill

Responsibility for Loss or Damage

Consign-It will accept responsibility up to the value declared for carriage, subject to our Standard Terms and Conditions.  If no value is declared, the maximum liability we will accept is R50.00 per waybill.

Volumetric

Consignments are charged at the greater of either the actual or volumetric mass.  The formulae for calculating volumetric mass is as follow:

(Length x Height x Width) / 5000                            All services except Economy

(Length x Height x Width) / 4000                               Economy

 Settlement of Statement

Payment in full is required by the last day of the month following the month in which the services were provided.

Surcharge Consignments (Special Trips)

Where a special trip has to be made in order to achieve and extraordinary service, and as a result there will be additional costs, we require a faxed acceptance of the quotation prior to the event.

Telephonic Quotations

Please be advised that telephonic quotations are subject to confirmation of the actual weight and dimensions.

VAT

All tariffs quoted exclude VAT, however, International shipments are zero rated and therefore, no VAT is payable.
